WHY YOU’LL LOVE THEM: Some would be quick to judge the New York outfit, mentioning them in the same breath as certain pop starlets trying to be “edgy”, but MAKE OUT are indeed punk to the bone. Stemming from the destruction of Danish poppers Junior Senior, the band blends Jesper Mortensen’s multiple talents with singer Leah Hennessey’s ferocity, producing a likable sound with no intentions of staying out of your face. Don’t approve of the attitude? Blame it on Hennessey’s bloodline (her stepfather is the vocalist for New York Dolls).
