ICEAGE
(COPENHAGEN, DENMARK | ICEAGECOPENHAGEN.BLOGSPOT.COM)
WHY YOU’LL LIKE THEM: If punk rock is a sedative, Copenhagen’s Iceage is an addiction. Coming straight from Europe’s underground, the quartet slab together a poison of post-rock punk and let it shiver down the back of your neck with a lick of goth. That’s not to say the group prefer glam over intensity; Iceage isn’t frail enough to be an ode to Robert Smith and instead take fury and drown their live performances with it, leaving behind photos and experiences involving blood, sweat and a stab at hardcore that watches Elias Ronnenfelt’s vocals and lacerating guitars and cymbal crashes rip your two ears apart.
