NOTES: While the artistic community is attached to the way she’s inherently “cool”, the 20-year-old from Los Angeles has a knifing voice that twists itself into various palettes of music. She’s intelligibly bold but not quite arrogant, translating the means of a vocalist who can revive the faded heart of minimalist ’80s pop with a true single (“Everything Is Embarrassing”), instil a bit of a honesty in electronic music (“Lost In My Bedroom”) and stun with a wave of Daughn Gibson-produced folk (“Sad Dream”). The latter especially provokes your attention to collapse into her words, which if given time, go ballistic with sentiments to confirm Sky Ferreira’s versatility is incomparable.
