Going Live: Wavelength Music Festival 2014

Odonis Odonis-1Partially responsible for Long Winter TO and any pop-ups your “booking” friends hold in basements and loft spaces, WAVELENGTH MUSIC FESTIVAL slow danced with Toronto last week and kept a few guitars warm. #WL14 – as it’s been dubbed this year – really just kept things simple by adhering to its independent makeup and seizing the downtown core with indie risers such as Marnie Stern, Colin Stetson, Phèdre, Biblical, The Wet Secrets, TOPS, and US Girls. Stern had to bow out due to Jack Frost leaving her stranded in New York and even though we missed a few nights because of icy conditions, we still found a way to take in some of the action. DIANA and ODONIS ODONIS antagonized Adelaide Hall with two tremendous sets while COUSINS and GREYS marched into The Garrison and ruptured spleens on a Sunday. All of the above were a win for Wavelength 14 and we have the photos to prove it.
