Every music festival has its perks – food trucks, skate ramps, cozy hotels with cozy beds – and with WAYHOME, it’s their lineup and their love affair with sound. Their poster isn’t a far cry from everything else taking place in July and August, but it is a younger and less genre bias billing that had ultimately been given the chance to perform somewhere new (and in the middle of nowhere). For example, the three-day festival had its fair share of indie giants but it wasted no time in spotlighting the likes of KENDRICK LAMAR, DANNY BROWN, RUN THE JEWELS, HOW TO DRESS WELL, ODESZA, THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM, MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA, METZ, and JULY TALK. Throw in some superior sound systems and you have a summer weekender that’s hard to top. In other words, there’s a reason why WayHome has already announced their plans for 2016.
Photographer Josh Mahoney was at the festival so check out his gallery above and his other set, featuring Modest Mouse, St. Vincent + more.
