Whatever you do this year, do not sleep on EARL SWEATSHIRT’s label debut Doris. It’s already being claimed as this year’s Channel Orange and though it’s a 360 flip from his previous single, “Whoa” scrapes out all the aesthetics you liked about Odd Future pre-2011. The track features a brain-twitching synth line from Tyler, The Creator, and as usual, Earl’s lines (“Hat never backwards like the print off legit manga”) run wild with character.
