Is VANS WARPED TOUR still relevant? The proverbial punk rock summer camp turned 19-years-old back in June and its only Canadian date this year happened to be at Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto. On a humid and rainy day. With hundreds of under-agers in attendance. Though we saw way too many fans cry lakes for their fav alternative heroes, Warped Tour managed to do the unthinkable – it absolutely floored anyone who felt way too old to be there.
For ten hours, the traveling expedition exposed every single crevice of the punk genre, balancing clear fan favourites (THE USED, THE WONDER YEARS) with the sort of bands that normally stir up pure chaos in a small cap venue (LETLIVE., THE CHARIOT, ARCHITECTS). The mix left most in shambles and proved Mark Hoppus was right all along about the tour – at its peak, it’s one chunk of summer you don’t want to miss. Check out our photos below.
