Montreal’s OSHEAGA MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL came and went this past week and to the surprise of no one, it solidified its case as being the only late summer fête that you need to buy tickets for. The multi-day outdoor fest delivered on its absurd promises of RADIOHEAD, LANA DEL REY, and the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS but they also turned Parc Jean-Drapeau into a sanctuary that sampled varied echelons of indie, pop, soul, grime, and heady electronica. Need proof? GRIMES re-illustrated the genius of Art Angels, FUTURE flew in on a new level, KAYTRANADA glowed up a rouge sunset, and if VINCE STAPLES, SKEPTA, and JAZZ CARTIER weren’t after hip-hop’s throne, SNAKEHIPS, ALEX G, and CHARLOTTE CARDIN we’re busy reinforcing Evenko’s A+ curation skills. Words really don’t do the weekend any justice so check out our pics below (via Matt Jumper).
