While the second stage featured a rising crop of Canadian talent, EDGEFEST 2011’s MAIN STAGE showcased rock heavyweights. Some were indie rock vets with large followings (DINOSAUR BONES, THE ARKELLS) while others didn’t need an intro to signal sing-a-longs (THE WEAKERTHANS), toe-tapping and crowd-surfing (TOKYO POLICE CLUB) and headbanging madness (A PERFECT CIRCLE, RISE AGAINST). The mix varied, yes, but this year’s lineup left a permanent imprint, one some fans won’t be able to scratch off for quite some time.
