Hailing from Philadelphia, Kurt Vile is a cool breath of fresh air for the singer-songwriter genre. Armed with an arsenal of acoustic guitars, loop pedals and a love for folk-ish prose, Vile has contributed three solo full-length albums to satisfy your thirst for freak-folk. His latest offering, Childish Prodigy on Matador Records, was met with favourable reviews and his sound has been compared to that of Tom Petty and even Bruce Springsteen.

Vile recently spent a night with an appreciative crowd at Babylon in Ottawa. His humble demeanor and minimalistic approach made for an enjoyable set that would have made any music lover’s night.
