Going Live: Blessthefall

Who: Blessthefall
Where: Mavericks, Ottawa
When: April 2 2010

Arizona-based scene heroes Blessthefall treated a sold-out Ottawa crowd with plenty of shred and breakdowns on April 2. Supported by openers Before Their Eyes and Miss May I, there was no shortage of mayhem in the pit of the recently revamped Maverick’s bar. The band played a longer-than-usual set which included the fan-favourite “God Wears Gucci”, and credited the Ottawa crowd for providing the sweatiest show the band has ever played in Canada.

Signed to Fearless Records, Blessthefall’s latest album Witness was released in October 2009 and is available on iTunes.

I saw Blessthefall at the 2008 Taste of Chaos. They’ve been one of my favorite bands for as long as they’ve been around. These guys know how to put on an insane live show, even though their set at Taste of Chaos was a bit short for my liking. I haven’t seen them since Witness came out but I hope to soon. They always have such high energy though and they’re all such talented musicians. Beau is a great front man, but I’m still not sure whether I like him more than Craig.
