GOING LIVE: Pennywise

WHO: Pennywise
WHERE: Sound Academy, Toronto
WHEN: September 10 2010

Punk rock isn’t dead (yet), it’s just getting old. With artists like Riverboat Gamblers and Authority Zero at their side, Pennywise did their best to revive the punk scene in Toronto at the Sound Academy despite the bitter cold lashing out at the dockside venue. Did the drop in temperature stop fans from making an appearance? Not at all, as the excitement brewing for the punktastic event was high but Pennywise’s performance ultimately hit a curb, bailed hard and witnessed several teeth fall out. Internal problems (line-up changes) could be the reason but it might just be a sign that Father Time is upon the aging punk bands who are becoming more known for the bark they use to have.
