GOING LIVE: Say Anything

SAY ANYTHING, KEVIN DEVINE
THE OPERA HOUSE, TORONTO / APR. 7TH

Two and a half years ago, California rockers SAY ANYTHING visited Toronto alongside family and friends (Eisley, Moving Mountains) and delivered with a bang, and even close to three years later, the band was still able to define the term “blowout”. Performing with KEVIN DEVINE, FAKE PROBLEMS and THE FRONT BOTTOMS (three acts your ears need to be friends with), Max Bemis and co. dished out the hits at The Opera House, with every last scratching hook (“Burn A Miracle”), old gem (“Eloise”) and even Sherri DuPree-Bemis’ lovely cameo (“So Good”) being thoroughly brilliant. Although the group have been north of the border a number of times, the energy – which slipped off every shouted chorus, familiar guitar zip and even the sudden, but short peaceful moments in some of the new songs – was unstoppable, pushing out the unanimous claim that Say Anything are in a good place right now.
