130+ shows and 250+ artists later, here is our annual roundup of our favourite music photography from the past 12 months. This year, we invested in some pretty sweet earplugs and took to the pits to capture candid moments that wound up on social networks, artist websites and even a piece of merch from one of our favourite bands growing up. While these images show how a photographer can evolve and add a hue of beauty to a still, we have to thank all of our staff and all of the artists, labels, managers, publicists and venue folks who help make concert photography an art form instead of a hobby on its deathbed. As Ansel Adams once said, “You don’t take a photograph, you make it”.
