Going Live: Billy Talent, Sum 41

Everyone has their firsts, and though BILLY TALENT released their self-titled debut almost ten years ago, they still manage to distribute their feverish variation of punk. It’s just this time, it bears a sense of nostalgia that can cripple you. The Toronto quartet visited the Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario on Wednesday, and as they’ve done for years, they led another night of alternative alongside SUM 41, HOLLERADO and INDIAN HANDCRAFTS. Even with above-average stage lighting and an expansive set list (they played nine songs off of their first two LPs), they felt at home, ripping with the knee-scraping edge they once emitted at locales like The Drink and Club Denim.
