On rainy days, most tap into a Netflix kick but this past Thursday, Torontonians reached out to GRIZZLY BEAR and THE XX for a comforting bright spot. The indie giants padded their promising show with in-depth sets that were ironic (“Sun In Your Eyes” closed GB’s) and added a bewildering amount of mystique to Echo Beach. Through Edward Droste’s chilling vocals and Jamie xx’s ability to add a “house-y” tint to the lakeside spot, the night’s performances were nothing short of extraordinary.
