Going Live: Savages

Last year, the Pop Noire/Matador act tore through the London scene with “Husbands”, decapitating atmospheric breaks in post-punk and re-stitching it with enough noise to terrify any nocturnal creature. Fast forward to now, and SAVAGES have bottled their unsettling confidence in their debut, Silence Yourself, and a live set that hits every bone in your body before disappearing within seconds. Though they’ve visited Toronto before, the four-piece were pushing to connect on an entirely different level at The Mod Club on College Street, swerving through songs such as “Strife”, “Fuckers”, and “She Will” like a wounded animal yearning to capture its prey.
