Spotlight: Stray From The Path Live In Pontiac, MI

Much like Chris Weidman, Mike Richter, and any band that calls Long Island home, NY’s STRAY FROM THE PATH are extremely dedicated to their craft and giving back to others. Drew York, Tom Williams, Anthony Altamura, and Dan Bourke aren’t really ones to accept a phony career because they’d prefer to ride waves, mishaps, and challenges to get to where they want to be. That’s why after seven full-length albums and a never-ending list of tours, their recent set at The Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac, Michigan, felt like a high note. Their tour run with For Today has inevitably had more ups but their comprehensive set list – that touched on everything from “Death Beds” to “Negative And Violent” to even “Scissor Hands” and “Badge And A Bullet” – was focused on giving the venue a good hard shake from the inside. It exposed a headliner feel but foreshadowed what could be a remarkable year for a band that’s set to rule the UK in March/April and finally hop on Warped Tour this summer. Our own Joel Pilotte met up with Stray From The Path at their Metro Detroit stop so check out his candids below and pick up the band’s new album Anonymous, which is out now via the team at Sumerian Records.
