Photos: Freddie Gibbs at The Hoxton

Even next to the Oxymorons and NehruvianDooms of 2014, FREDDIE GIBBS’ Piñata is a slow-cooked rap affair that has enough flavour for seconds, thirds, and even fourths that’ll have you feeling flyer than an Adidas suit. On Sunday (October 26th), the Gary, IN MC trekked up north to Toronto for a headliner at The Hoxton and as expected, it felt so good and it felt so right. Gibbs shifted gears throughout, racing through ESGN, Baby Face Killa, and his new Madlib collab, and his set ricocheted off a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd that couldn’t help but carry the tune of “Thuggin” or reach a whole new level of hype. Photographer Victoria Charko was there and you can check out her stills below.

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib’s Pinata is in stores now and on iTunes via Madlib Invazion/Stones Throw
