Listen: Leon Bridges – “Lisa Sawyer”

Leon Bridges - Lisa Sawyer

There’s vintage and there’s vintage. And then there’s LEON BRIDGES. The 20-something melodist from Fort Worth, TX, is a compelling doo-wop throwback as his new single “Lisa Sawyer” tells the story of his mother and darts towards comparisons to Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. It also previews his new LP which was recently recorded in his hometown with Austin Jenkins and Josh Block of White Denim. Hit play below (via Gorilla vs Bear) and while you’re at it, dig into “Coming Home” and “Better Man”.

Leon Bridges’ debut full-length is expected to drop later this summer on Sony/Columbia
