Photos: Queens Of The Stone Age at Budweiser Stage

Touring in support of their latest full-length, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE headlined at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage on Saturday (September 9th) and unpacked a few decades of concussive riffs. Brighton’s ROYAL BLOOD opened with their own face-melters (see How Did We Get So Dark?) and in the span of 21 songs, Josh Homme and co. fucked shit up — lacing their return to the city with a barrage of Villains, …Like Clockwork, and Songs For The Deaf which hit like a baseball bat covered in barbed wire. It was oddly euphoric to see the band do triple threats of “Feet Don’t Fail Me”, “Turnin’ On The Screw”, and “My God Is The Sun”, but as we’ve come to know there’s a method to that kind of madness.
