Over the weekend (Nov. 18th), Guernsey’s own Alex Crossan — aka MURA MASA — wrapped up his North American tour at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall and went on to show why he deserves a Grammy nom. The 21-year-old teamed up with LUNICE and FLISS, and finessed his way through live renditions of internet singles (“1 Night”, “Love$ick”) and S/T gems (“Messy Love”, “Second 2 None”) that had everyone moving in an instant. It’s rare for a producer to set a mood and have it swipe through the ups and downs of your dating history while you groove out, but that’s Mura Masa for you — his drum work has a way of making your heart swell.
