It’s Jason Tate’s list.
10 Albums That If You Don’t Own I Secretly Hate You
Morrissey – Viva Hate
A living legend belting out some of his best work. Practically a must own.
Beach Boys – Pet Sounds
The best album ever recorded. Do I really need to say more?
Brand New – Deja Entendu
Moody, witty, lyrically impressive. Just about everything a good band should be.
The Gaslight Anthem – The ’59 Sound
The best album most people haven’t heard yet. That needs to be fixed. This band is the real deal.
Blink 182 – Dude Ranch
This album changed how I listened to music. Before them I only gave music a cursory glance – this release spawned an obsession.
Thrice – Vheissu
One of the most powerful albums I own. Extremely thick and even a Biblical scholar probably wouldn’t pick up all the references.
Manchester Orchestra – Mean Everything To Nothing
I needed a more recent album in here and this one is an instant classic in the making. Just that good.
The Living End – Self-Titled
In your face rockabilly with hints of pop and punk thrown in. Great energetic album.
The Format – Interventions And Lullabies
One of the best pop albums recorded in the past few years. Insanely catchy.
Jimmy Eat World – Futures
I could listen to this album on repeat and never get tired of it. The layers, vocals and song structures showcase a band at the top of their game.
Interventions + Lullabies over Dog Problems? Interesting. Fantastic picks nontheless. Everyone should check out The Gaslight Anthem & Manchester Orchestra if you’re looking for some recent recs.
The new Manchester Orchestra record is very good indeed. Much improved over their first.
“Blink 182 – Dude Ranch

Seriously? Your actually lumping Blink 182 in with the likes of the Beach Boys? Are you sure someone didn’t just slip a good cd into the dude ranch cover? I threw up in mouth when I read that. The only thing worse than punk is pop punk
