WHO: Leonard Newell, Josh Ward, Samuel Jackson, Frank Colucci
HOMETOWN: Slough, England
GENRE: Alternative/Britpop
LATEST RELEASE: TBD (2011)
WHY YOU’LL LOVE THEM: They have an Oasis stench to them. Not an off-putting type of smell, but a glow found in gritty alternative gems listeners still embrace to this day. Brother may still be young, may have just signed to their first label (Geffen Records) and may not have an LP out (working with Blur/The Smiths producer Stephen Street) but their acclaimed “gritpop” sound is hard to ignore. Every band is talented in their own right, but the Slough act have promise, clashing Gallagher swagger with timeless hooks that scratch the inside of your eardrum and become your new found addiction.
SOUNDS LIKE: Retro alt Brit rock at its finest.
