There are a few things that can be called once-in-a-lifetime experiences. The 2011 JUNO AWARDS is one of them. Taking place in Toronto this year, the annual awards ceremony acknowledged the achievements of Canadian artists and at the same time, didn’t reenact its usual “second-tier Grammy Awards” feel and look.
Hosted by hip hop recording artist DRAKE, the Juno Awards tipped its hat to young musicians (ARCADE FIRE, SAID THE WHALE) and national legends (NEIL YOUNG, SHANIA TWAIN) and paid tribute to acts from over the years as well as the growth of music in the city of Toronto. Our crew (Leah Beresford, Sara Collaton) had the chance to attend the festivities over the weekend and if the pictures below are any indication, it’s a time they, and musicians in attendance, will never forget.
[A special congrats goes out to all of the 2011 Juno Award winners]
