To some, WAKESTOCK ACTION SPORTS AND MUSIC FESTIVAL is simply a long weekend full of wakeboarding and non-stop dates with alcohol. To others, it’s a music gathering that should never be missed. The venue in Collingwood, Ontario, is intimate, outdoors and often holds a large bundle of talent that’s too rambunctious to hold in a prestigious venue, let alone a city inflated with too many bright lights.
Keeping with the tradition of WAKESTOCK’s bond with music (see 2010 – ALEXISONFIRE, PUBLIC ENEMY), the 2011 edition featured a bevy of energetic performances featuring acts such as BLACK LUNGS, CUNTER, TOKYO POLICE CLUB, THE DIRTY HEADS, TALIB KWELI and DROPKICK MURPHYS. As most said towards the end – you had to be there. These photos would make you agree.
