Born Nika Roza Danilova, ZOLA JESUS is an experimental musician from Phoenix, Arizona, with a set of vocal pipes that match the prowess of Florence Welch but add a bit more to the lyrical art being blasted. The 21-year-old singer brought her tour to The Mod Club in Toronto and despite a disappointing Friday night crowd – due to Fall’s cold, dreary attitude – she still dazzled, surprisingly showing an explosive side and made those around her become overwhelmed with a sense of infatuation.
