FOXY SHAZAM, THE DARKNESS
PHOENIX CONCERT THEATRE, TORONTO / FEB. 1ST
Mix two extraordinary bands when it comes to stage theatrics and you’d think last Wednesday night in Toronto was a living dream stuck in the 1970s’. With both bands armed to the teeth with setlists ready to explode, FOXY SHAZAM and THE DARKNESS stuck it to the listeners in front of them and in a very cliche way, never looked back. Eric Sean Nally was as odd as he was energetic, being perfectly accented by The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins who despite looking sketched out, drifted through Permission To Land, a cover of Radiohead’s “Street Spirit” and a solid conclusion with “Love On The Rocks With No Ice” while wearing a Bovine Sex Club tee that just screamed bitchin’.
