CITY AND COLOUR, GREY KINGDOM
CENTENNIAL HALL, LONDON / MAR. 28TH
No matter where Dallas Green sings, he always seem to create a warm, comforting form of intimacy. Having witnessed CITY AND COLOUR perform at smaller spots like The Dakota Tavern in Toronto and St. David’s Sanctuary in Austin, the songwriter’s razor sharp ingenuity eliminated the theater aspect at London’s Centennial Hall, something even homegrown favourites GREY KINGDOM took advantage of with an attractive set. That spilled into Green’s powerful stage presence, where in oldies like “Comin’ Home” and “Sleeping Sickness” a heart-stirring feeling managed to invade everyone’s thoughts and invoke a hushed setting. And that, for a music fan, is sublime.
