GOING LIVE: NXNE 2012 – Day Four

The curtains don’t close without one big bang. Though Saturday wasn’t the official end to North By Northeast, it was the last big night full of brooding chaos. With most music lovers flocking to Toronto’s core to get squished by a giant balloon and THE FLAMING LIPS’ expansive catalogue, the rest of the city bore witness to bass writhing hip hop (KILLER MIKE, ACTION BRONSON), knuckle scraping indie rock (BLEACHED, RIVAL SCHOOLS) and everything else that seeped out of venues across the city. Our favourites: DIIV – who teased with rock jam after rock jam at the Urban Outfitters on Yonge St. – and CEREMONY, a festival highlight that dropped everyone’s jaw.
