Grinding it out at a new festival is like a Choose Your Own Adventure book and instead of having abrupt endings, you have enough music to feed on to keep you through an unknown territory. Such was the case for this year’s OSHEAGA MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL in the heart of downtown Montreal. Taking on the seven-year-old festival for the first time was a rush but how Parc Jean-Drapeau’s scenery tinted opening sets by artists like Justice, The Weeknd and Sigur Ros, was a clean shot of adrenaline. Every guitar line was potent and every vocal note bloomed with attraction (thanks Nate Reuss and Abel Tesfaye), making instant memories kick and flail without remorse.
