THE BABIES, BREEZE, ALWAYS
SILVER DOLLAR ROOM, TORONTO / NOVEMBER 16TH
Adjusting a night full of classic rock and bass rattles, Woods/Vivian Girls side-project THE BABIES tuned Toronto to the sound of gut-tearing fuzz rock that’s too normal and real not to sing songs of romance and desolation. Local dream guitar act BREEZE and Molly Rankin’s psych outfit ALWAYS rocked our kicks pretty hard but the next-level approach to mature caricatures of American hearts came straight from Kevin Morby and Cassie Ramone who sang, jammed and riffed their way through reflective feelings. In hindsight, their discography is worth falling in love with.
