Burning through a set full of eager romps, THE SHEEPDOGS and YUKON BLONDE brought some Western Canada vibes to Guelph, Ontario, and didn’t hold back on their original takes of brain-twitching rock n’ roll. Bodies swayed around, campus kids zoned out and much to everyone’s surprise, the two quartets scratched their indie tags with a hefty amount of blues. The chemistry was downright illicit to a certain point and when jams like “I Don’t Know” and “The Way It Is” hit the amps, the display of alt rock caught fire and undressed the definition of “a slow-burning tune”.
