Ask any rap nerd and they’ll tell you that both KILLER MIKE and EL-P released two of last year’s greatest hip hop LPs with R.A.P. Music and Cancer For Cure. Now that they’ve continued their family-like bond over beats, rhymes and blaze sessions, the duo have released their debut record as RUN THE JEWELS. The album’s free, it features Big Boi, Prince Paul and Until The Ribbon Breaks, and it’s a summer tape that bitch slaps you with a new meaning for “collaborative”. Run The Jewels artwork was also designed by talented visual artist, photographer Nick Gazin who contributed to pre-orders for other packages of the album that include tees, vinyl and an engraved multi-stage herb grinder. The whole thing’s up for download now so make sure to grab it plus your own deluxe bundle via Fool’s Gold.
El-P & Killer Mike’s joint tour kicks off at both Ottawa Bluesfest (July 10th) and The Hoxton in Toronto (July 11th)
