Over the years, VANS WARPED TOUR has been a haven to almost every band imaginable. In the 1990s’, the road trip was a home for Deftones, Blink-182, and Less Than Jake. In the 2000s’, it pretty much slayed with Every Time I Die, Thrice, Underoath, and Paramore. And now, it’s become a three-month trek that embraces newcomers such as HANDS LIKE HOUSES and tested veterans like CHIODOS, THE SWELLERS and BRING ME THE HORIZON.
Most of all, it’s disregarded age to enforce camaraderie amongst a community that’s often separated by anyone else who thinks Band A should never play alongside Band B because Band C is also there. That may not seem like a very significant accomplishment but last Friday’s stop at Toronto’s Molson Amphitheatre showed “the scene” doesn’t have any plans to disappear anytime soon. In rain or shine, Vans Warped Tour will still be headed to a city near you.
