Sunday presented the year’s toughest debate: Miley, Heisenberg or Westerberg? Taking the smart route, we joined thousands of others to catch THE REPLACEMENTS (above) reunite at Fort York and smooth out the extremes of RIOT FEST TORONTO’s eye-punching start. The alt punk pioneers pummeled their way through a 75-minute, 22-song stretch and neatly capped off guitar ripping from DINOSAUR JR., BEST COAST & THE WEAKERTHANS.
Sunday’s lineup was undoubtedly a little more rock-orientated but seeing local bands like SINGLE MOTHERS and THE FLATLINERS share the same stage as IGGY AND THE STOOGES was a sight to behold for anyone that’s watched friends jam out songs in a basement. Minus the press errors, the sets, the tunes and the climate proved that Riot Fest’s trust in chords is pretty next level. Check out our pics below and stay tuned for more from Riot Fest.
