Going Live: Arctic Monkeys, Drowners

Staff consensus: the ARCTIC MONKEYS are still an underrated act because AM’s an extremely underrated effort. With their fifth disc breaking records here and there, the foursome dropped by the Kool Haus in Toronto for a teasing performance that included material from all five albums. The slightly younger crowd certainly amped up the band’s feverish display of rip-roaring rock music, but their stroll through the first three songs (“Do I Wanna Know?”, “Brianstorm”, “Dancing Shoes”) and debut of “Snap Out Of It” between oldies (“Crying Lightning”, “Old Yellow Bricks”) indicated that these are Brits are leaning on an all-time high. NY’s DROWNERS certainly witnessed it as the night’s opening band and AC closing with “505” sealed it, because really, what did you expect? Check out our photos below.
