Going Live: Danny Brown, Action Bronson

“And no matter how it gets I hold on/ Rolling up this dope to cope I float on”. After countless past/recent attempts, DANNY BROWN finally made his way into the heart of Canada. The Detroit MC sparked it up with Queens mogul ACTION BRONSON as the two brought their 2 High 2 Die Tour to the Danforth Music Hall (sans L.A.’s Trash Talk), delivering a stunning Tuesday night gig that showed how rap’s progressive nature jabs at deep verses and hysteria.

Backed by a history of punchline-heavy showstoppers, Bronson took the Scott Steiner route with the mic, cruising through “Strictly 4 My Jeeps” and “Bird On A Wire” before previewing new Blue Chips 2 material and going a capella on “9-24-11”. Danny Brown on the other hand came out with producer SKYWLKR and pummelled with his straight-spitting tendencies. Like the night, his performance was a bit brief, but dropping into “Witit”, “Blunt After Blunt”, and a handful of Old cuts acknowledged he’s “red 2 go” for 2014 and armed with hits-after-hits that will drop critics dead.
