When it comes to PERFECT PUSSY, believe the hype. You’ll more than likely run into someone who thinks their headliner at Toronto’s Silver Dollar Room was incredibly short (or stuffy), but its compact length clearly didn’t hinder the Syracuse outfit. In a way, it gave their set more of an edge: cassette cuts “I” and “II” thrashed without a misstep; “Bells” and “Advance Upon The Real” blew fuses with serrated instrumental outbursts; and front and center, vocalist Meredith Graves opened up with a hostile thirst for passion while being surrounded by unstable riffage. All of the above joined hands to present seven songs that covered both I have lost all desire for feeling and Say Yes To Love, and as one local put it, “it was so God damn perfect”. Annabelle Lee and MEXICAN SLANG opened and provided a sturdy one-two so dig up “Widow’s Peak” ASAP and check out our photos if you missed the Saturday night special.
