In the midst of the Pitchfork chaos, the volunteer-powered CHIRP Radio welcomed DUM DUM GIRLS, EX HEX, and SPEEDY ORTIZ to Chicago’s Bottom Lounge on Saturday (July 19th). The one-off was labeled as a P4K Fest aftershow and it really turned out to be a demonstration of three groups from three different record labels (Sub Pop, Merge, Carpark) that are unquestionably three of the biggest alt/indie bands out right now. Some could argue that factoid but you’re probably better off just soaking it in. Photographer Dylan Johnson was there to grab a few stills.
