The Mad Decent Block Party is now in its sixth year and whether people would like to admit it or not, it has come a long way since dropping a few bangers in 2008. It’s absolutely parallel to the label’s massive rise to “plurntdom” and MDBP’s return to Toronto implemented one notable fact: turning up isn’t a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. Fort York’s grounds were overrun by random white dudes and thugged-out trapettes and all because of the Block Party’s lineup which spotted THUGLI, VIC MENSA, GRANDTHEFT, KEYS N KRATES, FLOSSTRADAMUS, and TO’s ZEDs DEAD. DIPLO was also in attendance and with a little bit of help from his Major Lazer bredren WALSHY FIRE, things got “Freak”-y. As one female fan explained to us: “We’re all just out here trying to get a degree at Dip-Low University”.
