While this year’s Canadian Music Week had its fair share of top-level headliners (Kiesza, Joey Bada$$, Faith No More, Noel Gallagher), it’s hard to ignore POST MALONE’s rabid popularity. The 19-year-old Texas-grown rapper has popped off since the release of “White Iverson” in February and his debut at The Mod Club backed his Soundcloud-party vibes. JIMMY B and DILLAN PONDERS cut deep with their own lyrical takes, but Malone turned the Toronto spot inside out – sparking the crowd with familiar tracks, unreleased music, and a truly infectious bravado that trumps Red Bull and Stoli. Bottom line: you don’t want to sleep on these three MCs. Dig up their music and check out our photos courtesy of Victoria Charko.
