Even though they’re sort of “new”, BADBADNOTGOOD are destined to win at least one Grammy. The four creatives from Humber College recently headlined at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall (March 12th) and while it could have been about their projects with Kali Uchis, Mick Jenkins, and Ghostface Killah, it was all about the minds behind the music. The group bebopped their way through a definitive solo set — diving into covers, free-form sessions, “Bastard/Lemonade”, duets with Charlotte Day Wilson, and a couple of heady, mosh-centric jams that confirmed Leland Whitty’s role as a full-time member. The show itself was as monumental as monumental gets and for every diehard BBNG fan in attendance, it was simply a teaser of what’s to come from a couple of local heroes.
