Much like Held In Splendor and their 2011 self-titled debut, QUILT’s Plaza (out now on Mexican Summer) is a record that abstains from popular trends and trips out on its own polychromatic blend of indie/psych/folk. It’s an approach that has its positives and negatives but it’s one that works as the Boston quartet’s recent set at The Drake Hotel (April 8th) was a flawless demonstration of how to make a groove actually “groove”. “Roller” and “Eliot St.” are still ridiculously catchy so grab a pair of headphones, hit the links, and check out our photo gallery above (courtesy of Jake Kivanc).
