New York City’s GOVERNORS BALL continued on Saturday (June 3rd) with the official halfway point being more of a statement than a concept. The festival has become a hub for millennials, indie heads, and dads who have legitimate hot takes about Harry Styles and it’s why the organizers countered with defining sets from the likes of BANKS, YG, Stormzy, Local Natives, Dua Lipa, and Car Seat Headrest. Upon nightfall, Phoenix riffed through a closer that was full of Ti Amo standards and Donald Glover played one of his last gigs as Childish Gambino — pogoing through a rare performance that poeticized Because The Internet and “Awaken, My Love!”. Words don’t do the artists any justice so check out our photo recap below (c/o Matt Jumper).
