Here’s the thing about WAYHOME — it’s a festival that just gets it. The annual weekender closed things out on Sunday (July 30th) with a HypeM-heavy mix of BANKS, Hundred Waters, Daniel Caesar, and more, and it reinforced its incredible handiwork when Frank Ocean finally hit the main stage. The internet R&B savant transformed Burl’s Creek into his own home studio — diving into “Pyramids”, “Ivy”, “Chanel”, “Biking”, and a rare solo of “Forrest Gump”. The latter invoked a camera cutaway to two boys sharing an awkward kiss onscreen, and to a certain degree, it amplified Frank’s closer and underlined WayHome’s ability to anchor moments you won’t find anywhere else.
