Taking a few cues from its older sibling, THE MEADOWS MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL set up shop at Citi Field this past weekend and let loose a charged up dose of late-summer escapism. The New York City offshoot upped the ante last year with local eats and a lineup that was Founders to the core, and Friday (September 15th) was a return to form as the event showcased acts such as Run The Jewels, Blood Orange, Sky Ferreira, Migos, Joey Bada$$, and 21 Savage. Brooklyn’s own Jay-Z headlined it all — finessing his way through a 26-song set that rocked “Lucifer”, “Moonlight”, “Run This Town”, and a tribute to “anyone that was held back and overcame” — and for a brief moment, time stood still.
