Touring in support of her second album, Turn Out The Lights, JULIEN BAKER previewed some of her new material at Toronto’s Opera House theatre earlier this week (on October 24th) and left the venue in shambles. HALF WAIF and Montreal’s COMMON HOLLY opened that night and underlined every note to this year’s form/a and Playing House while Baker fully committed to being herself. The 22-year-old started with “Sprained Ankle” and “Happy To Be Here”, and gradually made her way through numbers such as “Appointments”, “Funeral Pyre”, and “Claws In Your Back” — letting her love for momentum fly off the handle while making the most out of a quiet room.
