Tyler, The Creator’s sixth annual CAMP FLOG GNAW CARNIVAL took place this past week (October 28th and 29th) and cemented itself as a go-to for art kids who genuinely enjoy music. Since 2012, it’s maintained a weird aura of being a mid-autumn retreat for those who adore skate videos and A Love Supreme, and it’s a niche that’s niche enough to work. This year’s bill flipped on “Turbo Mode” as Saturday’s lineup kicked out sets from Lana Del Rey, Vince Staples, Kelela, Justice, Mac Miller, Brockhampton, and Tyler himself. It was a lot to digest in the span of 12 hours — especially when you get to see opposites like Roy Ayers and FIDLAR play B2B — but as we found out, that’s just Camp Flog Gnaw. It’s a festival that dreams big and simply goes for it.
