This past weekend (May 19th), Glasgow poppers CHVRCHES headlined Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall for The Josie Dye Show One Year Anniversary and it made for a night full of hooks, tunes, and beers. The one-off featured a beats-heavy opener from BRENDAN CANNING while Lauren Mayberry and co. synthed out with their new live drummer Jonny Scott — openly dissecting Every Open Eye, The Bones Of What You Believe, and the way their songs throw you into a corner with your feels and leave you with your heart on a string (see “Get Out”, “My Enemy”). If you missed it, make sure to catch their Yonge & Dundas show at next month’s NXNE Festival and swipe through our photo gallery above (via Troy Black).
Chvrches’ Love Is Dead is out May 25th through Universal/Glassnote; pre-order it and keep tabs on Indie88 Toronto
Excellent photos! Welcome back CHVRCHES!
